Content: <table><tbody><tr><td><div><h2>Ministry Focus</h2> <p>The focus of TrueLife’s ministry is both apologetic and evangelistic. As an apologetic ministry, we seek to equip believers to better understand, defend and share their faith. As an evangelistic ministry, we seek to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with unbelievers and lead them to a Bible-believing local church where they can be thoroughly discipled.&nbsp;</p> <p>TrueLife is a parachurch entity cooperating with local churches and other organizations to fulfill the Great Commission. TrueLife is not an online church, but we work through the internet with churches to present the gospel of Jesus Christ and help lead individuals to churches where they can be effectively discipled.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><h2>The Church</h2> <p>Throughout the New Testament, a description of the church emerges. While the Bible does not give a comprehensive description of the church’s form and function, it does give some essential characteristics of the church.</p> <p><span><strong>Definition:</strong> Broadly defined, the church is the body of all believers throughout history. More narrowly, the church is a local body of believers. True Life uses the term “church” in the narrow sense. To refer to the broader category we use the term “universal church.”</span></p> <p><span><strong>Purpose:</strong> The church’s purpose is to glorify God through preaching the gospel, teaching Bible doctrine, fellowship, prayer, making disciples, ministering to needs, communion, and baptism.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Communion.</strong> Jesus Christ initiated communion as a symbolic memorial of his death. Communion is also known as the Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Baptism.</strong> Baptism publicly symbolizes association of a believer with Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. <br></span></p> <p><span><strong>Missions and Evangelism.</strong> Christ commanded the church to actively involve its members in missions and evangelism in order to make disciples of all the nations.</span></p> <p><span><strong>Discipleship.</strong> The church fulfills Christ’s command to make disciples by reaching unbelievers with the gospel, baptizing new believers and teaching them to obey Christ’s commands.
